Meet Amina: Turning Skills into Opportunity
When Amina, a 22-year-old from Kakamega Town, first walked into our Innovation Hub, she carried with her a dream to build a meaningful career in the digital world. Like many young people in Kenya, she had talent, ambition, and a vision for her future, but lacked access to practical skills and real opportunities.
Through our hands-on digital marketing training, mentorship, and community support, Amina learned how to create and manage impactful online campaigns. She quickly mastered tools that help businesses grow in the digital space — from social media strategy to online branding.
But Amina didn’t stop at learning. Armed with confidence and skills, she launched her own freelance digital marketing business, offering services to local businesses in Kakamega. Her work has helped entrepreneurs boost their online presence, attract customers, and grow their income.
Today, Amina is not just earning a living — she’s inspiring other young women in her community to believe in their potential. She regularly volunteers at the hub, sharing her journey and motivating others to pursue tech and digital opportunities.
Her story reflects what’s possible when talent meets opportunity — and why youth innovation hubs matter.
